FAMILY CHILD CARE SUMMIT

On Sunday, October 8 - in partnership with Home Grown, Heising Simmons Foundation, and First 5 Los Angeles, and First 5 Orange County - CACFP Roundtable will host our inaugural Family Child Care Educator Nutrition, Health, and Wellness Summit and launch our Family Child Care Educator CACFP Communities of Practice initiative.

THE IMPACT

At the Family Child Care Summit, 100 family child care educators (by invite only) will participate in a cost-free 8-hour day and can expect to:

  • Be part of a diverse group of family child care educators from across different communities and socio-demographic backgrounds in California.

  • Gain new knowledge about how to prepare and serve nutritious, culturally competent, developmentally appropriate meals for the children in their care.

  • Gain new knowledge about how to leverage the financial resources of the CACFP to increase their sustainability and impact.

  • Be empowered to prioritize their own health and wellness.

  • Create new professional relationships that assist in combating workforce isolation, burn out, and turnover.

  • Be equipped to share their new knowledge and skills about meal service, nutrition, and wellness to the children and families in their care.

  • Be introduced and invited to participate in the CACFP Roundtable’s Community of Practice, a facilitated network of family child care educators who learn and advocate together.
