In April 2021, USDA released a suite of waivers for the 2021-2022 school year. The California Department of Education (CDE), in June 2021, provided applications for CACFP sponsors and centers to opt in.
Yesterday, the CACFP Roundtable and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) partnered to host a webinar for over 200 CACFP operators, to provide an opportunity for CDSS to give clarifications on waivers and give the CACFP community an opportunity to have their questions answered. CDSS answered over 60 questions live and in the Q&A chat. We even heard that soon, good news will be coming in an official format from CDE/CDSS that sponsors will not have to submit their waiver elections again as originally stated.
