It's National Farm to School Month! The California Department of Social Services, CACFP Branch is excited to provide additional resources for Farm to CACFP. Before they do that, the Farm to CACFP Initiative Team really wants to hear from you about your needs and what you're already doing so they can support you in these efforts in an intentional way. Dear CACFP Operator,
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Farm to Child and Adult Care Food Program (F2CACFP) Initiative Team is interested in learning more about ongoing CACFP Operator efforts related to F2CACFP and assessing the need for additional resources and training to support Operators in F2CACFP activities. Therefore, we developed a 2023 F2CACFP Survey to gather this information.
The CDSS F2CACFP Team provides support to CACFP operators to implement one or more of the three F2CACFP elements:
Serve meals and snacks that include locally sourced foods
Integrate nutrition and agriculture-based education into the mealtimes, classroom, garden, farm visits, or other venues
Offer participants opportunities for hands-on learning in a garden.
The 2023 F2CACFP Survey is optional, but we encourage you to complete the survey to help us expand and improve the F2CACFP Initiative. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Please complete it by Friday, November 3, 2023.
